Looking…
for a place where questions are welcomed, personal agendas set aside, and friends new and old gather to touch His heart? Then come visit the Vineyard by the Deep Creekâeither here online or at our cozy setting in the Deep Creek section of Chesapeake, Virginia.
You’d probably need to drop by a few times to really get the picture, but when we say a “participatory” church, we really mean it. We’re thoroughly part of the Vineyard tradition: casual in our format but very intentional about creating an environment for embracing and experiencing the reality of God’s kingdom in the here and now. As one in our family said, there’s not much room for “expectating” — coming to church expecting to be a spectator!
Come and Visit!
We meet on Sundays at 10am at the Old Deep Creek Baptist church facility. We have a nursery available during the service and staffed after the worship portion of the service. Also after worship, there is children’s church for kids under 12.
Directions from Virginia Beach and east…
Take I-64 to the Deep Creek exit (296B) — south on 17/George Washington Highway. Go thru one light, go another .2 miles and look for the church on the left. Our church is just south of the Methodist church
BEFORE the stoplight that takes you across the intracoastal waterway.

How are we different?
You won’t find any superstars here. We’re led by a team of elders who share responsibility for the care of our fellowship and that is reflected in how we meet. On a typical sunday, perhaps 10-15 people will share what the Lord has put on their heart, or a story, or a song, or a prayer. Don’t be surprised if you see kidz leading in worship. Making room for our young people to actively take part in our gatherings has been central to our mission for many years.
And it’s no accident that you’ll find a table at the center of our gatherings, whether we’re meeting in our homes, at a restaurant or on Sundays. Because that’s how we see Christ and the reality of our lives in Him and in His kingdom. He has graciously given us a place at His table. It may seem a bit less organized than other church settings, but like your family table, there’s always something fresh happening, and there’s always room for one more.

Service times?
I have an 8 yr old son & 14 yr old Daughter….do you have a children’s church setup or are kids in the service?
Is this the church that Wayne and Kathy Dillard are coming to on November 2nd? My husband and I would like to come, but I want to find out if this is the church where they are coming!
We have been involved with the online prayer ministry for the soldiers that they started.
Thanks!
Robin
Hi Robin,
Yes, this IS the church that Wayne & Kathleen are coming to.
We’d love to have you!
Nancy
Hi Steve,
We have one service, at 10:00 a.m., lasting until somewhere between 12 & 1:00 p.m. The children worship with the adults (first hour, more or less), then go to class. There is a class for your 8 year old, but your 14 year old would stay in the service with you.
Thanks for inquiring. Do come try us on for size!

Nancy
Hi,
What is your physical address so that I can get directions from mapquest?
Thank you,
Shannon
Is there an easier way to get to the church from Newport News, i.e. 664 or should we just take 64? We are really looking forward to seeing Wayne and Kathleen. Thank you,
Kathryn
